Choosing and ordering

Buying Help

Practical checks for choosing commercial screens and planning your order.

Can this screen operate in portrait?

Only use a screen in portrait when the manufacturer explicitly supports that orientation for the exact model. A rotating bracket or an image-rotation setting does not establish that the panel can operate safely on its side.

Check the specified rotation direction, ventilation clearances and any orientation-specific operating limits in the installation manual. Your player or software must also output portrait content.

What should I check for a shop-window display?

Portrait support alone does not make a screen suitable for a shop window. Check daylight visibility, direct sunlight, operating temperature, ventilation and daily operating hours. An indoor screen behind glass is not automatically suitable for a sunlit window.

Before asking for a shortlist, tell us the approximate screen size, whether sunlight falls directly on it, viewing distance and daily operating hours. We can compare documented product capabilities against those requirements and flag anything needing manufacturer confirmation. Installation and site suitability still need assessment.

Commercial display or commercial TV?

Start with what you need to show. A signage display is intended for business content; a commercial TV may offer broadcast reception and hospitality controls. Neither label guarantees a particular tuner, app, speaker or connection.

Check the exact model for your content source, sound requirements, operating schedule and control features. Do not assume consumer streaming apps or licences are included.

What do 16/7 and 24/7 mean?

These describe the stated operating schedule: 16 hours per day, seven days per week, or continuous operation. Choose a model whose documented schedule covers the hours you intend to use it.

The rating does not remove requirements for ventilation, temperature limits or image-retention precautions. Check the manufacturer guidance for static logos, menus and other content that stays on screen.

Can I play content from USB, or do I need a player?

A USB socket does not necessarily mean the display can play your files. Some ports are for servicing or touch connections. Check whether a media player is included and which file formats and codecs it supports.

For scheduled menus or several locations, also check playlists, remote updates, network requirements and software licensing. An external player may be needed. Share how you intend to update the content before choosing hardware.

How do I check bracket compatibility?

Match the screen weight and VESA hole pattern to the bracket specification, then check supported screen size and orientation. VESA describes the fixing-hole spacing; it is not a guarantee that every bracket with that pattern will fit.

Check rear obstructions, connector access and the required movement or tilt. The installer must assess the wall or supporting structure and choose suitable fixings. A catalogue match does not establish that a wall can carry the load.

What should I confirm about delivery access?

Give us the delivery address, access restrictions and a reliable receiving contact before the service is agreed. For larger equipment, flag stairs, lifts, narrow doors, vehicle restrictions and any booked delivery window.

Confirm the agreed handover point and handling service. Do not assume unpacking, positioning, packaging removal or installation is included. Check our Delivery page for the current arrangements.

How do funding and order acceptance work?

Email verification and business approval are separate steps. You can browse while your account is under review; ordering requires approval. Bank transfers are manually verified and posted to your company account before they become available funds.

Submitting an order request is not legal acceptance. Orders must be fully funded and pass current stock and price checks before acceptance and supplier processing. A normal 30-minute cooling-off period applies. Follow the account status and the current Terms for the detailed process; contact us before ordering if you have purchase-order or procurement requirements.
